Bobby E. Hogan Jr. was born on February 9, 1974 to the union of Mr. Bobby E. Hogan Sr. & Dorothy J. Hogan. Bobby Jr. & his brother, Jonathan grew up in the West Birmingham area. Pastor Hogan is a 1992 graduate of West End High School in Birmingham, AL. While at WEHS, Pastor Hogan was both academically & athletically studious. Upon completion of high school, Pastor Hogan attended the historic Talladega College, where he completed 3 years of studies in education. His own dream was to pursue an Education degree and return home to WEHS to teach & coach sports. During those times, Pastor Hogan answered the voice of the Lord calling him to this Gospel Ministry. In the last years of studies at Talladega College, Pastor Hogan returned home & began ministeral tutalege & preaching at New Hope Baptist Church. Later, Pastor Hogan furthered his leadership training under at the Olivet Monumental Baptist Church.
In August of 1997, the Mt. Joy Missionary Baptist Church called Pastor Hogan to be their leader. Under his pastoral care the church grew in all areas. After many challenges, desiring to be obedient to Christ Jesus, Pastor Hogan began the Joyful News Christian Church in August of 2000. Joyful News, also known as J.NC.C., grew rapidly in such a short time. Pastor Hogan's GOD given ability allows him to preach the Word of God with conviction and to draw with love and humor, which has blessed many lives and the ministry. Continuing to follow the direction of the LORD, in January of 2001, Pastor Hogan united in covenant fellowship with the United Christian Church of Gadsden, AL, under the leadership of Apostle Maurice K. (Lady Brenda) Wright. On April 7, 2001, Pastor Hogan united in Holy matrimony with his life long friend, Natassha Lee and they have 3 children: Matthew, Raven, and Andrea. Also, in that same year Pastor Hogan was consecrated and ordained to the Office of Bishop by Apostle Wright. As time would permit, the work of the Lord continued. Maturing in the things of God, flowing in the Holy Ghost, stablishing other ministries, setting order in the kingdom, Apostle Wright once again laid hands on Bishop Hogan and set him as an Apostle in the Lord's church.
With heartfelt regret and deepest sympathy our Spiritual Father transitioned into eternity April 2020. We are forever grateful to him, Lady Brenda F. Wright (our forever Mother), their family and The United Christian Church for every deposit made to our lives. The MKWRIGHT Legacy shall forever live with us.
Apostle Hogan, and The Joyful News Christian Family Church, is submitted to the leadership of Apostle Teresa Johnson (Touched by Compassion Ministries). This woman of God has served in our lives since mid 2005, and she is indeed the epitome of Compassion. She is committed to touching lives for Christ, sharing the love of Christ, impacting the world for Christ and connecting the world back to Christ. As Apostle Wright was to us, even now is Apostle T (as affectionately called) is to us. The Lord God did NOT leave us uncovered nor comfortless.
By Apostle Hogan's leading, The Joyful News Christian Family Church is also apart of The Way of Salvation Fellowship of Churches. Apostle Willie E. Sanders, Sr. is the founder and Sr. Presiding Prelate. Within this Fellowship, Apostle Hogan was elevated to 2nd Assistant Presiding Prelate on September 2nd, 2022.
Apostle Hogan continuously strives to equip people with the tools needed to live successful lives and to receive eternal life with the LORD. The ministry of Apostle Hogan yet focuses on "BEING A MATURE CHURCH FOR A SOON COMING CHRIST" in the Spirit of Excellence, by Encounter, Experience, and with Evangelism.
Our declaration of faith: Everything we have ever needed, our God has supplied". Miraculously every good and perfect gift truly comes from above. Even in the lost of our dear Mother Dorothy J. Hogan, we still tell the Lord, Thank You!
